Getting to the Roman Baths by train

The Roman Baths is less than ten minutes walk from the station, see Pedestrian map.

Major cities such as Birmingham and Manchester have frequent services via Bristol. The south coast ports of Southampton and Portsmouth have direct services by train.  For the national train timetable web site click here.

Travel to Bath by train until the 31st May 2010 and take advantage of First Great Western's 2 for 1 offers at a number of top Bath attractions including The Roman Baths.

 

Bath is an excellent city to visit by rail. The station is called BATH SPA. There are frequent high-speed connections to London Paddington. For a slower service that is likely to be cheaper, try London Waterloo.

 

Direct trains run every 30 minutes from London Paddington, and Advance Single fares start from £9.50 on selected trains (only if you buy in advance).

Up to five trains an hour run from Bristol Temple Meads to Bath Spa, with turn up and go fares of £5.60 Off-Peak Day Return*.

 

Two to three trains per hour run from Westbury (via Trowbridge) at £6.60 Off-Peak Day Return, and half hourly services from Swindon (via Chippenham) for £8.90 Off-Peak Day Return*.
