COVID-19 | The Roman Baths

The Roman Baths is now open, all tickets must be booked online in advance.

COVID-19

Following the latest government guidance, the Roman Baths is now open. In order to ensure that everybody has a safe and enjoyable experience with us, we have made a few changes to your visit.

We've reduced the number of people we can welcome to the Baths at any one time, to ensure that you have enough space to social distance while with us. If you wish to visit the Baths then you must pre-book your tickets and arrival timeslot in advance, this includes Discovery Card and Annual Pass Holders.

You can book your tickets for the Roman Baths here

  • One-way route with markers throughout
  • Our capacity has been reduced to 20% and all tickets must be booked online in advance.
  • Signage and signposting to help you navigate around the site safely
  • Protective screens on the reception desk and PPE for staff; all staff have been trained in physical distancing and hygiene protocols.
  • Face coverings must be worn in all indoor areas, unless you have a special exemption. You will not be required to wear a face covering in open outdoor areas such as the Great Bath and the Terrace.
  • Increased cleaning regimes across the site including hand sanitiser at key points for you to use.
  • One-in, One-out system for toilet facilities: only one household will be able to enter at any one time.
  • Daily dedicated sessions for visitors with additional access needs. You can find out more about our accessibility arrangements here.

Should you feel unwell/are displaying COVID-symptoms, please do not visit the Roman Baths. Our flexible rebooking policy will allow you to schedule your visit for another time. Please email us in advance of your visit to rebook.

You can help us keep everyone safe by:

  • Keeping your distance from other visitors and not overtaking while in the museum. Please note that there may be some increased queuing and wait times during your visit.
  • Please arrive five minutes before your booked arrival slots; we will not be able to allow entry to those who arrive outside their pre booked arrival slot or arrive without a pre-booked ticket.
  • Please note that the latest government guidance requires all visitors over the age of 16 to provide contact details for Track and Trace. To make sure your arrival is as quick and easy as possible, we are asking all our visitors to check-in using the Track and Trace app on arrival at the Roman Baths. The app can be downloaded here from the Google Play or App Store. If you or a member of your party are unable to check-in using the app then please speak to our staff at the ticket desk, who will take your contact details. Your information will only be used for Track and Trace, and will be deleted 21 days after your visit. Please see the information from PHE here and government guidance here.

If you need to cancel your booking or change the date, please email us or call 01225 477785. Our phonelines are open Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.

We won't be accepting any group visits for the time being, until such a time that we can safely welcome groups again. In line with Government legislation, you can only move around the site as two households or as a group of six people or less.

The last slots of the day may not be long enough to see everything of interest. Some visitors may like to book an earlier slot or book for another day.

The Pump Room is open for morning coffee and afternoon tea.
