Museums Week activities

Togas and Tunics

Turn yourself Roman – get dressed in a tunic and a toga or a tunic and a palla. See what it feels like dressed as a Roman. Does it make you stand straighter or feel important! Take a photo to send to friends and family.

  • Sessions take place on 26 and 27 October and 2 and 3 November, 10am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4pm

Mosaic Mix Up

No Roman home should be without a mosaic! Create a jazzy mosaic using a mix of pictures and colours.

  • Sessions take place from 28 October-1 November, 10am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Batheaston and Beyond

Investigate objects found in the area from Charmy Down to the River Avon. Make a miniature Iron Age Round House and handle objects from the Bronze Age to the time of Queen Victoria. This event takes place at Batheaston Scout Hut, Batheaston.

  • This event takes place on Tuesday 29 October from 11am-3pm
