Saturnalia was the most popular holiday in the Roman year and marked the winter solstice from 17 to 23 December. It was an occasion for celebrating, visiting friends, decorating homes with greenery, and exchanging gifts - just like we do today. The Roman Baths will take inspiration from these ancient traditions with wreaths, greenery, decorations and lit torches around the Baths.
