These unique and elegant buildings are available for private hire. They offer delightful and unusual settings for weddings, receptions, dinners, conferences and meetings.

We have implemented a number of changes to maintain the safety of our guests and staff.

  • Enhanced cleaning regime before, during and after events with sanitiser stations available for everyone.
  • Physical measures to ensure 2m physical distancing (or 1m+ where this is not possible) with particular attention to identified pinch points such as toilets.
  • Staff issued with appropriate PPE and trained to be vigilant in maintaining necessary physical distancing.
  • Other measures such as increased ventilation, staff checks and encouraging contactless payments.

As options for events become clearer, we will keep you informed on the Bath’s Historic Venues website and social media channels.  Please do stay in touch by following us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Party in the Pump Room

Whilst the museum and restaurant are open during the day, two small rooms are available for meetings or lunches. In the evening, once the daytime visitors have left, the Roman Baths and Pump Room become stunning and atmospheric venues for private hire.

The Bath’s Historic Venues team manage the private hire of the Roman Baths and also the Assembly Rooms, Guildhall and Victoria Art Gallery.  For more information about private hire, or to book, please visit the Bath's Historic Venues website or call 01225 477786.

The Roman Baths are arguably one of the most stunning and romantic locations in the country for weddings. Before the museum opens, or after it closes, you may exchange your vows beside the torch lit and steaming waters of the Great Bath. Following your ceremony, receptions are possible in either the Pump Room, or on the Terrace. For more information on Sunrise and Sunset weddings, please visit the weddings section of the Bath’s Historic Venues website.

Dinners and receptions

At the heart of the World Heritage city, the Roman Baths have been a venue for relaxation and hospitality for approximately 2000 years. Today, the Roman Baths make the most magical location for a drinks reception, with guests able to mingle on the ancient paving and absorb the unique atmosphere.

After a drinks reception, the elegant Pump Room makes a memorable setting for any dinner, party or reception. One of the most iconic venues in Bath, it can accommodate up to 160 for dinner and dancing. For smaller events, the Terrace, which overlooks the waters of the Great Bath, is the perfect location for an intimate dinner, and the adjoining Terrace and Reception Hall may be used for dancing.

With their views of Bath Abbey and Kingston Parade, the Kingston Room and Drawing Room are elegant, Victorian rooms perfect for a small meeting or private celebration. These are the only two rooms in the Roman Baths and Pump Room complex that are available for hire during the day, and can accommodate 24 boardroom style or 40 theatre style.
