Join us for a free evening of talks from researchers exploring how natural hot springs, including the Roman Baths, may hold clues to tackling antimicrobial resistance.
Professor Mat Upton will present pioneering research on natural product discovery for new antibiotics. Dr. Lee Hutt will uncover the extraordinary microbial life flourishing in the Roman Baths’ ancient waters, and Dr. Paula Aguiar will explore what the attraction is of thermal waters from microorganisms to human beings. Together, the talks highlight how nature’s hidden reservoirs of microbial diversity could inspire the next generation of life-saving medicines.
