Support the past and protect the future of the Roman Baths

Introducing The Roman Baths Foundation.

People have come to the Roman Baths for thousands of years to worship, to relax and to gather with friends. You can be a part of this ongoing story today. Your support will help care for this beautiful historic monument for everybody to enjoy. You will connect people to Roman life and surprise them about Roman culture. You will help create wonderful activities and events for children, young people and community groups.

The Roman Baths Foundation is a registered charity No. 1163044. Less than 1% of what you give is spent on running the Foundation meaning your donation has a great impact. All donations, of any size, will support the past and protect the future of the Roman Baths.

You can also donate by cheque. Please make your cheque payable to ‘The Roman Baths Foundation’ and send the cheque with a completed donation form to The Roman Baths Foundation, The Pump Room, Stall Street, Bath, BA1 1LZ.

To discuss your donation options please contact Rebecca Gibson.

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can add Gift Aid to your donation.

What is gift aid?

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can add Gift Aid to your donation because The Roman Baths Foundation is a charity. This means the Foundation can reclaim 25p for every £1 you give. Gift Aid is a government scheme and you can find out more from HMRC’s website.

Do I qualify for Gift Aid?

You must be a UK Tax payer. This means you must have paid Income or Capital Gains Tax in the UK. If you are a higher-rate tax payer you can also claim additional tax relief. For higher rate tax payers (paying tax at 40%) this works out as 25p for every £1 you donate and for the highest rate tax payers (paying tax at 45%) this works out as 31p for every £1 you donate.

How do I add Gift Aid?

You can choose to add Gift Aid when you donate online or you can complete our Gift Aid declaration form and send it to The Roman Baths Foundation, The Pump Room, Stall Street, Bath, BA1 1LZ.  The Foundation can then claim Gift Aid on all your donations in the last 4 years and on all future donations. Your donation must be made from a personal bank or building society account. Your donation must be your own money and not the proceeds of a collection.

What information do you collect?

To add Gift Aid, you need to provide your full name and home address. Your information is stored securely and is not shared with third parties. You can find out more in our Privacy Statement.

My circumstances have changed, what do I do?

Once you have become a Gift Aid donor, please let us know if your circumstances change. Please email The Foundation if you:

  • want to cancel an existing declaration
  • change your name or home address
  • no longer pay sufficient tax on your Income and/or Capital Gains
