Pump Room Trio

Founded as the Pump Room Orchestra by Master of Ceremonies Beau Nash in the 1700s, the group is believed to be the longest-established resident ensemble in Europe.

The Pump Room Trio or pianist plays every day to add to your enjoyment while having coffee, lunch or afternoon tea in the Pump Room. The members of the Pump Room Trio are – Violin: Matthew Everett, Cello: Tim Gilbert, Piano: Derek Stuart-Clark.

The pianist plays from 10.30am – 12.15pm, Sunday to Friday (except during the summer season) and 12.45pm – 2.15pm every day, all year round.

Wednesday 1 January 2020 – Monday 8 July 2020

  • Saturday 10.30am – 12.30pm
  • Daily 2.30pm – 4.30pm

Tuesday 7 July 2020 –  Monday 31 August 2020

  • Monday – Saturday 10.30am – 12.30pm
  • Daily 3.00pm – 5.00pm

Tuesday 1 September 2020 – Thursday 31 December 2020

  • Saturday 10.30am – 12.30pm
  • Daily 2.30pm – 4.30pm

The Trio plays 10.30am – 12.30pm on Easter, May Day, August and spring bank holidays

Very occasionally the regular Pump Room Trio slots will be replaced by a suitable musical performance delivered by visiting musicians. Occasionally in December the times may be earlier, to allow for carol concerts.
