Experience ancient echoes and modern sounds – this year some of the region’s best musicians will be performing at The Roman Baths, Friday- Sunday and Bank holiday Mondays. Wander the historic site while you listen to amazing music from local artists.

• Fridays and Saturdays – 5.30pm – 9pm: Make your next night out one to remember by joining us for our DJ Vinyl evenings, with Latin jazz, rare grooves, and global beats.

• Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays, 5.30pm – 9pm: For a relaxed end to the week, check out our Sunday Acoustic evenings

Entry to Summer Lates, including live music sets, is included with your Roman Baths admission ticket. Simply select an evening entry time, and you’ll have the option to add on a guided evening tour at 6pm or 7pm.

We recommend allowing at least an hour to explore the museum and historic site before reaching the torchlit Great Bath.

John Smith

Born in Essex, raised by the Devon seaside and making his bones in the bars and clubs of Liverpool, England's one and only John Smith has been at the pioneering forefront of British Folk Guitar Music for twenty years. He has amassed over 100 million Spotify streams and played his songs all over the world. He cut his teeth opening for John Martyn and has since played with Joan Baez, Jackson Browne, Sarah Jarosz, Lisa Hannigan, David Gray, The Milk Carton Kids, Roseanne Cash, Jerry Douglas and Richard Hawley.

Sunday 10th August: Acoustic sessions with Lauren Housley and Pasha Finn & Alex Dover

Lauren Housley

Performance time: 7-7.45pm, & 8-9pm

Lauren Housley is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Yorkshire, known for her soulful voice and emotive storytelling. She has released three acclaimed albums and earned BBC Radio 2 playlist spots. Her band, Lauren Housley & The Northern Cowboys, blends country-soul with powerful live performances, winning a 2024 UK Americana Award. They’ve wowed audiences at Nashville’s Bluebird Café, AmericanaFest, and SXSW. Influential outlets like UNCUT and Holler have praised their sound and they have Whispering Bob Harris as a fan. Housley’s return to her hometown inspired her latest full length album, rooted in authenticity. She's shared stages with Van Morrison, Yola, and more—offering joy, soul, and lasting lyrical impact.

Friday 15th August: Vinyl DJ John Stapleton (La Bomba)

John Stapleton (La Bomba)

Performance time: 5.30-6.30pm, 7-7.45pm, & 8-9pm

ohn Stapleton has been DJing in his home town of Bristol for over three decades – from the Western Star Domino Club and Tropic in the 1980s through DefCon and The Cooker to BlowPop, Easton Standard Time and the South-West’s longest-running soul night, Go Go Children, he’s been involved in some of the city’s most-loved events. With DJ Boom Operator, he currently runs La Bomba, focusing on heavy-duty African, Latin and funk sounds, strictly from original vintage vinyl.

Sunday 17th August: Acoustic sessions with Izzie Yardley & Lola Lee

Lola Lee

Performance time: 5.30-6.30pm

A 24 year old multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer, Lola fuses the smooth sound of Soul/R&B with influences from every decade she can get her hands on. After working in Bristol bands for the last 5 years, Lola branched out as a solo artist with her debut single Jasmine; released in April, the song received radio play from BBC radio Bristol and Somer Valley FM. Lola's tapestry like, carefully woven music is hauntingly beautiful and charged with emotion.

Sunday 24th August: Acoustic sessions with Our Man in the Field & Richard Black

Our Man in the Field

Performance time: 7-7.45pm, & 8-9pm

Our Man in the Field is the sonic alter ego of British songwriter Alex Ellis—a project hitting its creative stride with a sound that’s both expansive and intimate. Ellis’s vivid storytelling and unmistakable tenor have drawn comparisons to Ray LaMontagne, Damien Rice, and Wilco, but his voice is entirely his own. Blending Americana, indie-folk, and cinematic soul, he crafts songs that feel like short films—emotional, unvarnished, and built to last.

Richard Black

Performance time: 5.30-6.30pm

Richard Black was born in Bath some years ago after a brief episode as an embryo. He returns to the stage with his beloved 70s’ Eko Ranger guitar to sing songs of transfiguration in shadow of Gene Clark, Skip Spence and Nick Drake. Richard will release his self-produced debut album, ‘Butterfly’ in the fall, after mixing and remixing it for 3,000 years - a psychedelic pop phantasmagoria recorded and mastered via analogue tape, akin to Syd Barrett with Beach Boys harmonies.

Bank Holiday Monday 25th August: Acoustic Sessions with Hayden Thorpe & Evangeline

Hayden Thorpe (Wild Beasts)

Performance time: 7-7.45pm, & 8-9pm

Hayden Thorpe came to prominence as the lead singer and chief songwriter for the much-celebrated band Wild Beasts who released five acclaimed albums on Domino Records before disbanding. Hayden has since released three solo albums on Domino; Diviner, a critically adored work of solitude and fragility. Sophomore album Moondust For My Diamond, a work that is galvanising, reassuring, elegant, seductive and oozing in Big Cosmic Energy.

September 2024 saw the release of Ness, an album of rare ambition and singular beauty made in collaboration with best-selling nature writer Robert Macfarlane.

Evangeline

Performance time: 5.30-6.30pm

Evangeline’s rich, soulful voice brings a fresh take on beloved, classic songs. The stripped-back ambience of her set is both engaging and elegant as her crystalline vocals strike the balance between powerful and personal. Each set is emotionally resonant, musically polished, and tailored to the moment. Whether it’s a wedding, private event, or intimate gathering, Evangeline delivers a live experience that is professional, heartfelt, and effortlessly listenable.

Performance time: 5.30-6.30pm, 7-7.45pm, & 8-9pm

With over 30 years of DJing experience, Gareth Morgan has amassed an eclectic vinyl collection that he brings to life at events and festivals nationwide. A resident DJ for Friendly Records, he also holds down a weekly session at Bump Rollerdisco and hosts a show on SWU FM. As a founding member of Bedmo Disco, Gareth recently released a six-minute remix of Zenana’s “Witches” on the acclaimed Rush Hour Records label.

Sunday 31st August: Acoustic sessions with Henry Grace & Jodie Austen

Henry Grace

Performance time: 7-7.45pm, & 8-9pm

Henry Grace is a singer-songwriter from London. His debut album Alive In America was written about the formative years he spent living in California. Recorded at Rockfield Studios, Alive In America was released in January 2022 with the album painting a stark and vivid depiction of the place he called home and credits with saving his life. The album received praise from the likes of Wonderland, Anthem and Americana UK and support from BBC Introducing and Spotify editorial playlists with Henry being chosen by Danielle Perry as her self-released artist of the month on Absolute Radio’s Sunday Night Music Club. His eagerly anticipated second album is expected later this year.
