Meet Our Roman Characters – Say hello to our costumed Romans as they share fun and surprising stories about life in ancient Britain!

Join the Spooky Spider Hunt with our Spotter Trail - Embark on a creepy-crawly quest and discover a spider-themed Roman myth. Did you know that the mortal Arachne was turned into a spider by the goddess Minerva? Follow the Spotter Trail to see where the spiders are hiding!

For Young Adventurers (Ages 6-11):

Meet Our Roman Characters – Hear incredible real-life stories from our ancient Roman residents.

Kids’ Audio Guide – Travel back in time with our fun and interactive audio tour!

Children’s Activity Book – Packed with puzzles, games, and hilarious Roman facts—just £5 at the Welcome Desk or shop!

Follow the Spooky Spider Trail and uncover a Roman myth - Learn about the myth of Minerva and Arachne – and come face to face with our own statue of the goddess Minerva. Follow clues around the museum and bath houses to discover some eight-legged creatures.

Family Activity Sessions - Get hands-on in our drop-in craft sessions, included in your museum ticket. Create a mosaic pumpkin or a spooky spider to take home as a Halloween keepsake.
